The Science, Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship Department at the University of Exeter Business School is a research-oriented department devoted to teaching excellence. We are committed to high quality research with economic and societal impact and research-led, engaging education which helps students attain the highest standards and realize their potential to make an impact on the world. We are seeking to fill multiple posts. This hiring follows three years of successful junior as well as more senior recruiting and forms part of a continued expansion and investment into Business Analytics at the University of Exeter.
The role
We are seeking to appoint an Associate Professor, Senior Lecturer, and/or Lecturer in Business Analytics to a permanent post. Preference will be given to researchers with strong empirical and analytical modelling skills. We particularly welcome applicants with experience of teaching Business Analytics topics and/or programming with R and/or Python. We are looking for a national leading/emerging international figure with the ability to attract world-class academics to their research team. Applicants will be innovative researchers with a track record of research funding and international quality publications commiserate with the role of Associate Professor, Senior Lecturer, or Lecturer.
For a Lecturer post you will have:
A PhD or equivalent in Business Analytics or Operations Research and have an independent, internationally-recognised research programme in a relevant active field of research
A strong record in attracting funding for research, or demonstrate potential to attract such funding
An active approach to inter-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary research
Enthusiasm for delivering high quality undergraduate and postgraduate programmes
Strong connections and funded projects with business and community partners
Involvement in projects which develop impact.
For Senior Lecturer, in addition to the above, you will have:
A strong potential for research leadership
A track record in refereed publications and success in significant grant capture
Relationships with external organisations and funders/and knowledge and experience of key sectors or business challenges
For Associate Professor, in addition to the above, you will:
Be a leading authority in Business Analytics with an international reputation, as evidenced by research publications, sustained funding as Principal Investigator and PhD supervision as well as other esteem indicators.
Have experience of making significant contribution to the development and clarification of research strategy for their subject area
Have significant teaching experience to contribute to our educational programmes and to the overall student experience.
