Taylor Engineering, Inc. is actively seeking a Dredging Engineer with 5-15 years of experience to work in any of our Florida locations (Jacksonville, Tampa, Sarasota, or Destin). This position will support our interdisciplinary coastal, waterfront, water resources, and environmental team members. Previous experience should include the development of planning, permitting, design, and construction administration documents related to the maintenance and deepening of state- and federally authorized navigation projects. The ideal candidate will have a wealth of multi-faceted public and private client experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
Lead, organize, and develop effective dredged material placement strategies (beneficial use, upland, offshore, nearshore and beach placement, and thin-layer placement) in a tidal environment
Permit, design, and perform construction administration for upland dredged material management areas varying in size and geotechnical characteristics upwards of 100 to 1,000 acres
Active engagement in local, state, and national dredging community organizations
Provide a leadership role for our Taylor Engineering team to successfully manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget
Acts as advisor to the team regarding projects, tasks, and operations
Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering or other applicable engineering discipline; preferably with Master of Science in Civil, Environmental, or Coastal Engineering
Experience: 5-15 years in dredging engineering, regulatory permitting in the State of Florida, and construction administration
Registration: Florida Professional Engineer (PE)
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Energetic, detail-oriented team player
Organized with the ability to multi-task
Ability to carry out complex mathematical calculations
Possess exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and spot issues in complex technical, scientific, abstract information, designs, and diagrams
Lifting up to (35) pounds unassisted
Sitting for extended periods of time
Possesses acceptable vision (with or without corrective lenses) to be able to see and navigate a computer screen
Ability to go out into the field and construction sites
